1. Overview

Citizenship is an educational study app that helps you prepare for the U.S. naturalization civics test. We designed it to be privacy-first: there is no account or sign-in, and we don't collect your name, email address, or precise location.

This Privacy Policy explains what limited information is handled when you use the app, why, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information that identifies you directly. Specifically, we do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or GPS location.

The only data involved comes from our third-party advertising provider, which may automatically receive technical information (described in Section 4) needed to display ads.

To keep the app free, we display ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process technical data such as device identifiers, IP address, device type and operating system, and ad-interaction information, in accordance with its own policies.

5. Your Tracking Choices

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On first launch, iOS asks whether you allow the app to track you across other companies' apps and websites. You may decline, and all features of the app remain fully available regardless of your choice.

Personalized ads

You can adjust or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings and through Google Ads Settings.

6. Children's Privacy

The app is intended for a general audience preparing for U.S. citizenship and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data Security

Because we collect minimal personal data and keep your study data on your device, your exposure is inherently limited. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
